Description
Southeast Community Services (SECS), a Center for Working Families, is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for residents in southeast Indianapolis. We embrace the belief that everyone is “naturally creative, resourceful, and whole,” which informs the supportive services we offer. Our team is here to guide you every step of the way, whether you’re seeking continued education, resume assistance, financial coaching, or other resources to help you achieve your goals.
SECS offers a variety of programs, including workforce development, adult education, public benefits navigation, and financial literacy training. We also provide certifications in various job trainings, High School Equivalency (HSE) classes, and English Language Learner (ELL) courses. Our goal is to empower individuals and families to attain economic stability, personal growth, and active community participation.
In addition to these services, we offer transportation support for neighbors we work with long-term, as well as family programming. Our coaching and wrap-around supports help individuals with employment, public benefits navigation, and financial literacy. We partner with Indiana Legal Services and refer neighbors meeting certain criteria for legal assistance.
SECS also provides a food pantry by appointment on Mondays from 2-4 p.m. and Thursdays from 3-5:30 p.m., and free produce through our “Produce for the People” program on Wednesdays from 12-2 p.m., while supplies last.
