Over the past several months, the Marion County Public Health Department team has hosted a series of interactive workshops, with the focus centered on discussions surrounding various methods of reducing gun violence. These meetings feature both youth and local provider participants conducting strategic marketing sessions with interactive exercises to further explore approaches to youth gun violence prevention, intervention, and reduction. Other activities include an opportunity to present their own unique creative works themed around gun violence prevention – culminating in an art gallery display.
The next workshop will be at Martin University on October 3rd, hosted by the Marion County Public Health Department team. Following that, the final workshop in the series will take place at Martin University on 11/7/2024. Please mark your calendar and check back soon to register. Invites will be sent out via email once registration is open.

Due to lack of youth participation, the Youth Art Competition has been canceled for the October workshop. We hope you can still join us for the Strategic Marketing workshop from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. All providers, youth-serving organizations, and stakeholders are invited to attend.
This is also another opportunity to learn more about the Marion County Public Health Department’s sponsorship for community funding from Health First Indiana that will help to improve core services for community health partners as well as neighborhood and grassroots organizations.
There will be more opportunities for our Youth Artists to submit their creative works to the Disarm Hate, Arm Love campaign. More information will follow in the coming weeks.
